Configuring Windows XP to Connect to Maverick Internet

Create a new Mail Account in Outlook Express Start
Outlook Express. On the Tools
menu, click Accounts. In the Internet
Accounts dialog box, click Add, and then click Mail.
In the Display
Name box, type the name that you want others to see when you send a message, and
then click Next. In the E-mail Address box, type the
e-mail address for the account that you are using (for example,
"janedoe@maverickbbs.com"), and then click Next. Under E-mail
Server Names, use the default incoming
e-mail server type (Post Office Protocol version 3 [POP3] is the default type), Then type
the names of your incoming e-mail server: mail.maverickbbs.com
and outgoing
e-mail server: mail.maverickbbs.com. Click Next.
Type your
POP account name and password in the POP Account Name and Password
boxes, (use the same name and password as you used in the login and password for the
connection. Click Next. In the Internet Mail Account
Name box; Use the default name that shows in the mail account that you are
configuring. This is known as the "friendly" name for the account. In this case
it will say: mail.maverickbbs.com. Click Next. Click the connection type that you
use to connect to the Internet, and then click Next. Click Finish. |
